Kerbal space program demo flicker12/28/2023 I just wanted to verify I was having the issue before I seriously "tested" for it. The thing that made me even suggest anything was your statement on another thread - files that become corrupted in mature software are generally hardware related. It's also my experience, however, that when folks encounter issues similar to yours, because the machine was working fine before hand, that the problem is not the machine but the software my memory problem was hidden (as was the graphic card problem) such that they only appeared when they were placed in very very HIGH resource allocation situations, which didn't happen most of the time, and even then only occasionally and under the 'right' circumstances. these have occurred over years of continuous use and different machines.) Just a suggestion since I've experienced such things.Īgain, not saying it's a solution to YOUR problem, I've had less-than-obvious oddities happen due to a faulty graphics card, faulty memory modules as well as a power supply that was slowly failing. Yeah - could be any number of things for sure. Not saying my machine may not have issues but this isn't just a me issue either. It is also the first things the devs will tell you to do when you send in a support ticket to make sure your install is good. It isn't as though I need anything when I do. Other issues come about due to robotics being twitchy etc but I still run the verify local file thing "just in case". Normally I just see the one normal one, sometimes two. Most of the time a restart resolves issues but only once did I get 9 files bad. Most of the time I think they are hotpatching the game and the space bar will stop working. More often then not the posts are dismissed with "get a driver update", but that isn't the issue. I don't have issues often and I am not the only one who has posted about the black flickering. Running an extensive graphics card and/or memory diagnostics might flush the problem out if it's not heat-related (or voltage-related). Digital electronics usually fail immediately or not at all (they just die at some point, so we usually don't see them 'in decline') but developing memory errors that cause synchronicity problems are confusing and irregular and could be behind your issue. You may have a memory error or something similar that's causing your issues. It is normal to see one file fail, think it is the video driver in use thing. I run regularly, whenever my game acts funny.
